Vale Don Butling

Don Butling, 1951 Jubilee Premiership player, died on Wednesday February 18.

Butling, 89, played for the Two Blues from 1946-52 and attended many past players functions and luncheons after his playing days.

Kevin Sheedy would proudly relate the tale that it was Don Butling who bought him his first 

Pair of football boots when he joined Prahran as a teenager.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday February 25 at 10 30 am at the Elstenwick Chapel 

A Funeral service for the late Charlie Roach was held on Thursday February 12, at 2.30 pm at W D Rose Funeral Chapel, 339 Warrigal Road, Burwood.

Roach, awarded life membership in 1959 was chairman of a selectors from 1965-75, culminating in VFA premierships in 1970 and 1973, and was a Team Of The Century selector with the late Ray Harvey and Jack Morgans.
