Two Blues Reserves outclassed in Grand Final

Prahran Assumption Reserves was no match for Ormond at Coburg City Oval on Saturday September 12 in the VAFA Division 1 Reserves grand final suffering a 65 point loss.

Ormond kicked 6-6 to a point in a fierce first quarter kicking with the aid of a strong northerly breeze in an ominous portent of what was to follow.

The Two Blues responded with 4-3  but conceded a crucial goal into the wind to trail by 20 points at half-time.

A seven goals to nil third quarter spelt 'game over' for the defending premier.

The one posiitive from the comprehensive defeat was the fact the three of the best players were youngsters Tom Keaney, Michael Pisker and Joe Slattery.

Credit to coach Josh Ancrum and assistant Ash Parsons for reaching the final final, but Ormond was simply too physical and classy losing just one match for the season.
