Two Blues Reserves Bow Out
Prahran Assumption Reserves bowed out of the finals race when PEGS overran the Two Blues in last quarter at Bill Lawry Oval on Sunday.
The Two Blues began brilliantly with Tom Matherson goaling in the first minute and held a 14 point quarter- time kicking with the aid of a breeze.
At half-time the lead had been cut back to three points with a Josh Hogarth kick for goal after the siren stopped on the goal line.
The third quarter proved pivotal with the Two Blues adding 3-3 but two crucial PEGS goals into the wind in time-on were telling giving them a one point lead coming home the breeze.
After an arm wrestle for the first 10 minutes PEGS kicked the opening goal of the quarter and then took control with the Two Blues scoring just two points against the wind.
A gallant effort by captain-coach Josh Ancrum against the odds to qualify for another extended finals series,
