Two Blues Relegation Bound
Seniors:
Prahran Assumption is headed for relegation to VAFA Division 2 after a meek capitulation against Whitefriars on Saturday.
From an encouraging start when the Two Blues kicked the first five goals of the match, admittedly with the aid of a breeze, what was to follow was deflating and typical of the season's fortunes.
Following such a promising effort the previous week at home against second placed Old Geelong, yet again away from Toorak Park the Two Blues were abysmal.
The pressure and intensity of the first quarter suddenly vanished and for the next two quarters the Two Blues could cobble together a mere three points while Whitefriars added eight unanswered goals.
When key playmaker Matt Wall hobbled off at half-time with a back related injury, never to return, the signs were ominous.
Even so the third quarter was especially forgettable, just two points, with the wind, while Whitefriars piled on 4-4.
Whitefriars did its best to keep the Two Blues in the game missing countless set shots but their outside run and superior will to win was more than enough to post a 11-18 (84) to 7-8 (50) victory.
Good players were hard to find but yet again key defender John Stocker was outstanding as was John Simonetta in defence while Harry Taylor and James Musster tried valiantly to lift their flagging teammates.
With four games remaining Prahran Assumption is last on the ladder and three and a half games behind seventh placed Whitefriars and two games and percentage behind eighth placed Old Paradians.
Next Saturday the Two Blues again trek across town to Essendon Grammar to take on fourth placed PEGS.

Reserves:
This was an unexpected arm wrestle against cellar dweller Whitefriars but the four points keept the Two Blues in third place on the ladder.
With games against the top two teams and fourth placed Therry Penola to come a finals berth is far from certain despite an imposing 11-3 scoreline.
Ruckman Tom Keaney was the stand out best afield.
