Point Of Law was every bit as impressive as recent Geelong Cup winners Media Puzzle, Dunaden and Americain leading into the Cup. Northern hemisphere three year-olds have the best Cup record of the internationals and he has the Ciaron Maher polish. Maher has seven runners and Shockletz, on the minimum weight, can run a mighty race, handles all conditions should showers keep coming. Joseph O'Brien saddles five runners, best maybe Trustyourinstinct and last year's runner-up Goodie Too Shoes. 

RACE 8: MR NATURAL 1, Ranarsson 2, Harry Lime 3, Shooting Brake 4

Ranarsson will be all the rage after two impressive provincial wins, but he's an on pacer and may be vulnerable late to Mr Natural who will be the best swooper.

RACE 9: DANCE TO THE BOOM 1, Shadhavar 2, Terilee 3, Stylish 4

Dance To The Boom won this race last year and her game chase behind Gentle Steel over 1100m shows she's on track to repeat. Shadhavar is the likely leader and will take running down.

RACE 10: BUCCLEUCH 1, Everain 2, Space Rider 3, Surf's Up 4

Good pace here from stablemates Porter and Jett Smash should set this race up for topweight Buccleuch to swoop late. He's destined for much higher honours than a benhcmark 90.  Everain was a certainty beaten at Geelong and will also be running on.
