Regal Ambition was most impressive coming from last to topple Pretty Baby in the Prelude and the extra 200m looks made to order. The X factors are Sydney visitor De Armas who powered home for third in the Group 1 Flight Stakes at this trip and untapped Over The Bridge.

RACE 8: DOUBT TIME 1, Over Excited 2, Organised Crime 3, Half Pipe 4

Doubt Time was on the right side of the track when he finished on well in a Group 2 down the straight after landing a plunge on debut here. Over Excited, the sole filly in the race, came down the slower inside so can improve.

RACE 9: COSMIC CRUSADER 1, Zahrann 2, She's A Hustler 3, Half Yours 4

Intriguing Cup with queries over most runners including the favoured pair -Cosmic Crusader, the class runner but a wide draw, first time to 2400m and a firming track while Zahrann was inglorious in the wet at Flemington but was ultra impressive winning the Naturalism here on a good deck. She's A Hustler is the value runner, one start one win at the trip in the Zipping Classic and drops 4kg. Last year's winner Half Yours gets out to his preferred distance range and M Zahra on may prove significant. As ever the internationals are hard to assess but must be respected none more so than Starford trained by Joseph O'Brien who is winning feature races all over the world including two Melbourne Cups and a Cox Plate and almost out performing his famous father Aidan.  

RACE 10: CONCORD CONNIE 1, Merrigold 2, Guerite 3, Oh Too Good 4

Concord Connie is classy, just has to overcome an awkward draw. Major players are Merrigold and Guerite who will power home given the breaks at the right time.
