RACE 6: KING TUT 1, Duchess Zou 2, Laa Dee Sha 3, Dirty Grin 4

RACE 7: STREET ARTIST 1, Yes Yoshi 2, Choir Point 3, Job Done 4

Street Artist was close-up at Mornington after tracking wide, roomy track suits. Yes Yoshi is undefeated and promising, Choir Point was Group competitive in the spring and won well first-up.

RACE 8: THE VOLTA 1, Gold Coast Belle 2, Trapdoor 3, Bacash 4

The Volta was terrific resuming and coming from last and widest for a close second at Mornington. The extra 200m is ideal. Gold Coast Belle is flying and Trapdoor is racing well, gets winkers on for the drop back from 1600m.

RACE 9: VON HAUKE 1, Hughes 2, Wonder Boy 3, Osipenko 4

Von Hauke is a backmarker so needs luck, he was luckless in this race last year and was terrific first-up in the Victoria Handicap. Hughes won that race, he's the most improved galloper in the state but does rise 5kg. Wonder Boy won the Guineas at this meeting last year and was impressive winning a weaker race at Mornington.

RACE10: YOU'RE TWO VAIN 1, Herecomestar 2, Balastier 3, Stoli Bolli 4

You're Two Vain staged a remarkable after effort to run third at Sandown resuming when he slipped at the start and came from last. Normally an on pacer, Herecomesthestar is good fresh while Balastier is speedy and in-form.

BEST BETS:  Merrigold, You're Two Vain. VALUE: Von Hauke.
