Round 13 Match Report
Seniors
In a must-win game the players were switched on from the start against Kew. We started strong and didn't let Kew get into the game, our backline headed up by Ben Galbraith stopped any forward moves by working well as a defensive unit against the highly rated Kew forwards.
The midfield worked hard with Rory Brodie and Mackenzie Mayne winning most of the clearances. Up forward Jonny Simonetta picked up from where he left off after missing many games through injury.
A complete performance was made to look better when we lost our co-captain on half time and then first gamer Eddie Espinosa also left the field after really becoming involved in two goals for himself and numerous goal assists.
Coach Brett Dickinson praised the boys’ performance and now we concentrate on UHS-VU this week as once again it’s a must win game.

Reserves
What a difference a year makes, this time last year Kew beat us by over 100 points, but Coach Jack Matherson was confident as he fielded the best team he has had on the park this year.
His confidence was spot on as the boys took apart the team sitting second.
A great team performance lead by a dominant midfield with Tom Seaman, Co-Captain Tom Bowes and Adam Heatley getting plenty of the ball. Up forward Jack Noonan ran rings around the opposition and a calm Pat Rhodes worked across the half backline repelling many attacks. We now must continue to win to make finals but momentum is building.
