PFC takes on Peninsula Pirates tomorrow in a home round clash at D.W Lucas Reserve. Come down and cheer on the mighty Reserves from 11am followed by the unstoppable Seniors at 2pm!
TWO BLUES SEEK SEVEN IN A ROW STREAK AT HOME

REWARD for doing the hard yards early in the year when we played six of the first eight games away from home is coming now as we stay at DW Lucas Reserve for a second successive week for Saturday’s clash with Old Peninsula.

There is a score to settle as the Pirates players and supporters were very vocal enjoying an upset win in our early season clash. The round eight clash was an ‘ambush’ with the home team Pirates slamming on the first seven goals of the game before going on to post a 45 point win.

Peninsula now sits sixth on the ladder but out of VAFA Division 1 finals contention while the third placed Two Blues have their sights firmly set on second position and the coveted double chance.

It can be fraught with danger to gaze too far ahead, but surely the Two Blues will bring a steely determination to extend the winning streak to seven.

Last Saturday Preston Bullants gave the Two Blues an early scare, leading by seven points early in the second quarter. But a third term 10 goal to nil blitz iced the game and set up a 95 point win.

UNDER 18 BOYS

ROUND
13 saw the Two Blues take on St Paul’s Bulldogs.
In what was a scrappy affair early, the Doggies managed to quell the run of the Prahran boys for a brief amount of time before they kicked away.

Marcus Middendorp continued his stand out season as he racked up possessions, live-wire small forward Harry Stewart proved a handful with four goals and Tom Dixon overcame an injury scare to form an impenetrable backline that kept St Paul’s goalless.

With two home and away rounds of South Metro Junior Football League remaining before finals, both the boys and girls teams are ladder leaders.

Prahran: 3.3   6.6   9.12   14.14 (98)
St Pauls: 0.0   0.2   0.5   0.5 (5)

UNDER 18 GIRLS

WITH two games still left in the home and away season, Prahran U18 Girls have secured a finals berth with a big win over the East Brighton Vampires.

The Two Blues hit the scoreboard in the first minute of the game with a huge 50m kick from midfielder Dowling. Everything seemed to go smoothly for the team, who executed their game plan with composure for the full 68 minutes of play, despite being without any bench rotations. By standers commented on the incredible tackle pressure and run that the girls have built into their style of play.

Ignjic added two goals to her 2023 tally, placing her firmly in the race for the divisions top goal scorer - one goal behind the leader with two games to come.

This week, Prahran play the in-form Mordi Brae team in a traditional 8 point game: the winner of which will likely lock in a double chance for the upcoming finals series.

KNOW YOUR SPONSORS

HAGEN’S Organics has been a valued player sponsor at Prahran for more than a decade.

The link with the Two Blues is Ollie Hagen who succeeded his father Royce operating the family-run butchery based in Melbourne.

Ollie played Under 19s , Seniors and Reserves with the Two Blues.

With five stores located around the city, Hagen’s Organics provides the community with organic, ethically raised and locally sourced meat.

Today, the company is run by Royce and Sue’s son Ollie, sister Ruby and mum Susan who operate the business from their warehouse in Richmond.

Hagen’s Organics originally began in the 1980’s when Ollie’s parents, Royce and Susan Hagen ran an organic fruit and vegetable store in the Prahran Market.

This was at a time when organic produce was a niche product, with a smaller yet, defined and loyal following.

It wasn’t long before their customer base started encouraging them to retail organic meat.

In 1999 Hagen’s Organics made a shift from fruit and vegetables, to beef, pork, poultry and lamb, with Royce opening Hagen’s Organic Butchers at the Prahran Market.

This move meant Royce became one of Victoria’s first organic butchers, working with local farming families to bring Melbournians the best quality meat available.

The family is committed to bringing his community premium quality meat that is of the highest ethical standards, with a focus on organic and biodynamic principles.
