PFC Newsletter 11, June 16, 2023

Newsletter 11, 2023

This promises to be another arm wrestle if our clash earlier in the season at Packer Park is any guide.
At three quarter-time, on a calm day, on an ideal surface, the scoreline read Prahran 3-6 to Glen Eira 1-8.

Defensively the Two Blues held all the aces, but their inability to convert their chances proved costly when Glen Eira gained momentum and powered clear in the last quarter to win by 10 points.

After eight rounds they remain the only undefeated team in VAFA Division 1.

Refreshed after the week’s break, the Two Blues should be primed to wipe out the memory of the abysmal showing v Peninsula. One positive to come from that game was the return of 2013 Basil Cleary Medallist Matthew Wall into the line-up.

PFC Reserves v Old Peninsula on Saturday, June 3 by Trevor Evans.

UNDER 18 BOYS

NO games for the PJFC U18 Team who also enjoyed a well deserved bye round.

UNDER 18 GIRLS

DIV 1 undefeated PJFC U18 Girls also enjoyed a well deserved bye round last week, however a huge congratulations to U18 team member, Soph McKay, who has made the VIC Metro Squad as a 17 year old.

Soph has played over 150 games for PJFC across both the girls and mixed competitions. She has been in great playing form for the Sandringham Dragons in 2023, whilst returning to PJFC in the U18G competition during their community recesses. A huge congratulations to an incredible young player.

B.E. PRODUCTS is a family owned company of one of the largest commercial suppliers of steam distilled water in Australia.

This is a third generation business now managed by Peter Warburton, a former Prahran player and life member, and his son Russell.

The B.E. Products story started back in 1920 when great grandfather John Warburton, started the business alongside Benny and Eddy, his best friends from World War 1. Together, they purchased their first distillation still from Carlton United Breweries, which at the time distilled water for beer.

In 1934 they moved premises to Gooch St, Prahran and stayed there for over 70 years producing steam distilled water for the medical, industrial, export and domestic markets. During that time, Des, the son of John, continued the business with his wife, Nell.

Today Des' son, Peter, continues the business with his son, Michael. Together, they re-branded the logo to reflect on what their business is. Due to expansion the business is currently based in Box Hill South, Victoria.
