PFC Expands Netball Teams to Add 10 Juniors Teams
The Two Blues name and colours of Prahran Football Club will feature in 10 junior teams in Season 2 of the Prahran Netball Association starting in July.
Teams from Our Lady Of Lourdes, Christ Church, Lauriston and Armadale Primary will come under the banner of PFC, using the Two Blues prefix to their team names and wearing Two Blues uniforms.
The Two Blues will feature four Rookies teams, three U11s, an U13, U15 and U17 and two ladies teams, an ideal fit.
An information night at Toorak Park on Friday April 19 proved a resounding success with an enthusiastic response from players, team managers and parents. Season launch will be at Toorak Park on Friday July 10.
The move into netball is part of the evolution of the Prahran Football Club Community Sport Program (CSP), co managed by PFC general manager Steve Zayler and Collingwood VFL coach Dale Tapping.
The CSP, co sponsored by Bendigo Bank East Malvern and Victoria Clinic, was started in 1999 and services primary schools in Stonnington, the Horace Petty Housing Estate and Currajong Special Needs School.
PFC fields open age teams in the Prahran Nettball Association and Glen Eira Sports And Aquatic Centre.
Season launch will be on Wednesday July 8 at 6pm at Toorak Park.
The Two Blues open ladies teamns are enjoying successful seasons.
The Two Blues are second on the ladder in the Wednesday night Glen Eira Sports And Aquatic Centre competition and third placed in the Prahran Netball Association Tuesday night competition.
