A history making day last Saturday with three sets of brothers, all Assumption Collegians, in the winning team v Emmaus St Leo’s.

Pictured left to right: Josh Hogarth, 32, and Ged Hogarth, 30, Tom Freeman, 23, and Dan Freeman, 27, and Will Brereton, 21, and James Brereton, 20, all played in the seniors together for the first time, evidence the Assumption connection continues to grow.

Appropriately the former ACK players wore the old school  colours as our away strip.

This Saturday we host neighbour Melbourne High School Old Boys in another must-win game if we aspire to top two aspirations.

While the boys do battle the Ladies luncheon day will be in full swing .

Seniors:   

Our best display of the season to win by 58 points in enemy territory v Emmaus t Leo’s. Now second on the ladder and a must-win game at home this Saturday v MHSOB which has also started the season well.  The undefeated Reserves zoomed to the top of the ladder with a  thumping 116 point win. Rick “Chief’ Ellis, perhaps inspired by a visit from  Tasmania  by his father was a stand out with 11 goals. The Club XVII completed a clean sweep  with a 10 point win over MHSOB and is second on the ladder.

Netball:   

Clinic for all  players is booked in for Friday July 7 at  Romanis Centre, from 10 am to 1pm followed by a sausage sizzle at Toorak Park.

Community Sport Program:   

The CSP team  will host a BBQ at Toorak Primary school this coming Thursday with our leadership group assisting. The CSP has started its program  and this month move to St Joseph’s and Armadale Primary under the management of Steve Zayler.
