TWO BLUES END SEASON IN FIFTH POSITION IT could best be described as ugly, but Prahran Assumption won its final match of the 2022 VAFA Division 1 season in a low scoring affair v Whitefriars to finish the season in fifth place on the ladder. In truth that was a fair reflection of the season as despite several close calls the fact is the Two Blues did not defeat any finalist the closest being a draw with Old Camberwell. Last Saturday saw Beau Adams (pictured) achieve the 150 senior games milestone and it was fitting such a heart and soul player could celebrate the day. While the match featured a litany of errors from both teams the Two Blues prevailed 8-9 to 3-11. The Reserves won their seventh match for the season, a more than creditable return for first season coach Jack Matherson given such a rocky start to the season. The best and fairest count was held last Sunday at the Osborne Rooftop Bar with Matthew Clifford winning the Basil Cleary Medal and Sir Rupert Steele Perpetual Trophy while Mitch Capra won the Reserves best and fairest. All trophies will be presented at Presentation Night on Friday September 2 at the Osborne Cocktail Lounge.
