BACK TO TOORAK PARK AFTER HEROIC DRAW
DRAWS always provide mixed emotions but in the cold light of day nothing can detract from the heroic performance to tie with then ladder leader Old Camberwell last Saturday.
To concede a 33 point start and with two key playmakers Zac Podmore and Jack Matherson out of the game with serious injuries by half-time this was a truly gallant Two Blues performance.
The frustration was after snatching a seven point lead early in the last quarter the Two Blues could not convert that advantage to a win.
The Two Blues never slackened in their hard nosed approach, rather the home team lifted as they responded to a rare challenge.
We are tipping not too many teams will leave Gordon Barnard Reserve with premiership points this season.
Tomrrow we welcome Whitefriars with four premiership points a must given we are playing on our home deck.

MEET OUR PREMIER CORPORATE PARTNER –OSBORNE ROOFTOP BAR
SIMON Lennox has a storied history with Prahran Football Club.
As a player he joined Prahran VFA in 1992 under coach Brian Taylor and promptly won the club best and fairest that year and again in 1993.
Now he is back with the Two Blues as managing owner of Osborne Rooftop Bar, the club’s premier corporate partner for the next five years.
Simon (right) is pictured with vice president Paul “Squizzy’’ Taylor with a framed photo presented this week to take pride of place at the Osborne.
The Osborne, formerly the Royal Exchange Hotel, changed ownership in 2016 and after 18 months renovations opened in 2018 and has quickly found a niche in Prahran/South Yarra’s entertainment precinct.
When the club went into recess after 1994, Lennox went on to play in three premierships with Northcote Park in the Diamond Valley League retiring in 2004 aged 35.
Lennox’ career started at Marcellin and in 1989 was runner-up in the VAFA A grade best and fairest.
He completed pre seasons with Collingwood 1989-90 and on the morning of the 1990 grand final recalls coach Leigh Matthews rang to say he was next pick in the AFL draft. But history shows the Magpies had a change of mind went with rover Dallas Normington.
Lennox's re-connect with the Two Blues is apt as he was also manager of the then Prahran Football Social Club (now Spectrum On Chapel) in 1993-94.
"I have been in hospitality all my life, it's good to be able to give something back to the club,'' he said.
