Netball Government Grant for Two Blues

Prahran Football Club's netball program has received a welcome $5000 grant for equipment from the Federal Government's 2015-16 Stronger Communties Program.

Federal Member for Higgins and Minister For Small Business and Assistant Treasurer Kelly O'Dwyer presented a certificate to netball operations manager Leanne McNamara and club vice president Tim Habel at her Malvern Rd offices on Wednesday November 18.

O'Dwyer announced the grant winners of a total $150,000 to a range of organisations ranging from kindergarten groups, scouts, lawn bowls and baseball.

A sub committee reviewed applications totalling more than $300,000 and had the unenviable role of trimming that back to the allocated budget of $150,000.

The grant will be used to purchase uniforms for the club's growing netball division which fielded two senior and 10 junior teams in 2015 while in 2016 we field two senior teams and 12 junior teams.
