Historic win for Prahran Under 18s

PRAHRAN Under 18s recorded an historic win in the South Metro season opener on Sunday.

The first time Prahran has fielded an Under 18 team, saw the boys came out victorious with a commanding 87-44 win over the Beaumaris Sharks at Banksia Reserve.

The young Two Blues are coached by Ed MacDonald, a former Prahran juniors player in the modern day re-birth of the juniors back in 1999, a premiership player in 2011, member of the Team Of The Decade (2010-19) and life member.

With a game plan based on hard running, uncompromising defence and fast ball movement the boys executed and the scoreboard was telling from first to the final siren.

Coach MacDonald was pleased with the team's performance, noting the strong display of teamwork, hard running and skill.

"I'm really proud of the boys today," he said.

"They played with great intensity and focus, and their teamwork was exceptional. A heap of positives and also many things to work on which will pave the way for improvement"

Overall, Prahran's win over Beaumaris was a strong statement of intent, and the team will be looking to build on this performance in the coming weeks.

With their strong midfield, dynamic forward line, and solid defence, Prahran under 18s are certainly a team to watch this season.
