Ed MacDonald 100 Senior Games
Ed MacDonald holds a special place in the history of 100 senior game players at Prahran Assumption Football Club.
Ed, who achieves the milestone this Saturday v Bulleen Templestowe, is the first player to come through the junior ranks and play 100 senior games since the juniors were re-formed in 1999.
In that first season Ed won the Under 12s best and fairest, a portent of things to come from the Clarke Street resident.
Three years later in 2002 he was a member of the memorable first premiership for the junior Two Blues, Division 2 of the Yarra Junior Football League.
Ed experienced his first taste of senior football as a skinny 16 year-old wingman.
Dedicated to his fitness, Ed transformed into a hard running defender-cum-on baller and was a key member of the unbeaten VAFA Division 3 premiership in 2011.
Ed was assigned some major tasks of key opposition playmakers and emerged with honours every time in a break out season.
In recent years Ed has developed outstanding leadership skills and his diet and fitness regime has been adopted by many of his teammates.
