CAULFIELD Saturday, August 15, 2026, rail true, track soft 7
RACE 1: MARKDEL 1, Sayoyard 2, Educated 3, Behaviour 4
RACE 2: SIMBURGH 1, Amleto 2, Federer 3, Aeolian 4
RACE 3: GLASGOW LASS 1, Misapprehend 2, Silent Shares 3, Illivy 4
RACE 4: TEN COMMANDMENTS 1, Duchess Zou 2, Elouyou 3, Home Rule 4
RACE 5: CLOSER TO FREE 1, Tornado Valley 2, Big Wigs 3, Hard Kick 4
RACE 6: NATURAL FLING 1, Riverina Lulu 2, Santa Barbara 3, Scintillation 4, Lara Antipova 4
Always hard to assess juveniles from last season but Natural Fling won on debut here on a soft 7 and has trialled well. Riverina Lulu is up in grade but has the advantage of a recent debut Flemington win.
RACE 7: COSMIC CRUSADER 1, Private Eye 2, Evaporate 3, Coueur Volante 4
Match in two. Cosmic Crusader was impressive first-up winning for new trainer Andrea Leek and 1400m suits even better. Private Eye won this race last year, Nash Rawiller is likely to push forward and try to dictate, they are a hard pair to get past.
RACE 8: PERSIAN SPIRIT 1, Arkansaw Kid 2, Shadhavar 3, Recon 4
Wide race. Persian Spirit has a big race win in him, he's very good fresh and on soft ground and has a booming finish. Shadhavar will make the pace, Arkansaw Kid won this race in 2024, was second last year and is a major player again. Talented Recon would appreciate a track upgrade.
RACE 9: DARKBONEE 1, First Chorus 2, Light Infantryman 3, Just Folk 4
Not sure Caulfield is his right track, but Darkbonee is on the rise with a big finish. First Chorus has won her past three here and while this is harder rates highly again while Light Infantryman as a Group 1 winner is extremely well placed in a benchmark 100 and won the Carlyon Cup at this trip fresh in February.
