Mazu has eight of his nine wins on soft tracks, he's a Group 1 placegetter so looks well placed. Arkansaw Kid was brave under a big weight resuming, wetter the better for proven first-upper Outback Miss while Zarastro is a speedster who will give a bold sight. She's Bulletproof needs a soft 5 at worst.
RACE 8: MAGIC TIME 1, Geegees Mistruth 2, Pop Award 3, Miss Roumbini 4
Magic Time is the class runner, loves it soft and is proven first-up. Tasmanian Geegees Mistruth is talented and honest as is the fit runner Pop Award.
RACE 9: ANOTHER WILL 1, Mr Brightside 2, Fangirl 3, Treasurethe Moment 4
Terrific edition of the Memsie with at least six chances but looking to Another Will and Mr Brightside to repeat their Orr Stakes quinella earlier this year. Both are proven fresh and in the soft.
RACE 10: HOME RULE 1, Sepals 2, Chorlton Lane 3, Green Fly 4
Home Rule has found his niche, 1400m at Caulfield on soft tracks. Drops 6.5kg on his last start win here and looks the sole leader. Sepals, a lightly raced Group winning four year-old, is the unknown quantity at this level.
BEST BETS: Home Rule, Too Darn Discreet. VALUE: Mazu.
