Rory Brodie wins third Basil Cleary Medal
PRAHRAN premiership captain Rory Brodie has capped another stellar season with his third Basil Cleary Medal for best and fairest and the Sir Rupert Steele Memorial Cup announced at Thursday night's (September 26) presentation awards at East Malvern clubrooms.
Ruckman Brodie also won the coveted award in 2021 and last year when he was also the VAFA Division 1 competition best and fairest.
It is a remarkable success story from a young man from Adelaide who found Prahran as his football 'home' after a google map search.
Brodie clinched the award with a superb finals series to overhaul mid-fielder Mackenzie Mayne who also won the Alf Blamey Players Players award.
Ruckman Michael Woods won the Reserves best and fairest.
Playing coach Jack Matherson announced he would stand down from the role.
Thanks to Rachael Milward, wife of premiership coach Craige, the room was superbly decorated and Fabulous Catering provided a splendid offering for players and supporters.

MICHAEL PISKER UPDATE
NINE weeks since Michael Pisker's accident playing VAFA Premier grade with St Kevin's we can share news from his mother Alexandra that he was discharged from the Acquired Brain Injury unit at Caulfield Hospital on Thursday, 19th September.
Michael played seniors and juniors for Prahran before playing in A Grade premierships with St Kevin's.
Last month Michael had what we hope is his last major surgery - a cranioplasty to reinstate Michael’s skull. Michael is recovering at the Alfred and hopes to be home in time to watch the Grand Final.
We want to thank once more the amazing neurosurgeons who help people like Michael survive traumatic brain injuries and the rehab team who have enabled his recovery. To the doctors, nurses and support staff at the ICU, who cared for him, the football community, SKOB and VAFA and every single club that supported, donated and prayed for him, thank you. Thank you also to Michael’s friends, family, work colleagues and strangers for your love, prayers, support and positivity. Michael will continue his rehab journey with the Alfred community team and it is your support that will help him through.
