TWO BLUES OUT TO KEEP FINALS HOPES ALIVE

BACK to Toorak Park on Saturday as the Two Blues continue to press for a finals berth.

Just when all seemed lost last Saturday v Therry Penola away from home and trailing by 34 points, the Two Blues staged the comeback of the season to kick 10 of the next 12 goals.

While the players deserved plaudits for their recovery and eight point win it only gets harder from now on.

On Saturday we take on Old Camberwell in an even money game given the teams drew in the first round.

At the time Old Camberwell was undefeated and on top of the ladder but its form has slumped since to be sixth, 6 points astern of the Two Blues.

That said, all of Old Camberwell’s losses have been to top four teams and last Saturday trailed by just four points at three quarter-time against quality opponent PEGS but only managed one point in the last term.

Old Camberwell’s first quarter blitz of six goals in round three was as good as a team has played against us all season.

A fast start is imperative.

OUT OF THE LOCKER ROOM

MENTAL health is an all too familiar presence in society nowadays and football clubs are far from immune.

More than 40 of our players on Wednesday night teamed with a Stonnington Council initiativ  in a program named Outside The Locker Room (OTLR) designed to help and better support clubs and its members to deal with mental health and other social issues.

Co-ordinated by a member of our leadership group Jake Stent-Powell the hour long session no doubt gave players a better understanding of how to identify the issues and how to assist in gaining help.

Out Of The Locker room was founded by former Carlton player Jake Edwards who addressed our club on the issue in 2017.
