James Musster represents Two Blues in Ireland and England Tour

Prahran Assumption captain James Musster, the 2017 VAFA Division 2 Hutchinson Medallist, capped a stellar season representing the club in a VAFA combined tour of Ireland England.

Musster, pictured here in the coveted 'Big V' jumper, joined a party of 35 players and officials in a 17 day tour in October, described as a trip of a lifetime.

Musster quickly adapted to the round ball used in Gaelic football. A dominant display through the midfield, piecing together an outstanding four-quarter performance saw him awarded the Spirit of the Big V Award in the 29 point compromised rules game v Donaghmore Ashbourne who featured several all Ireland Gaelic players.

Results were mixed with a 47 point win v Bishopstown, two losses in compromised rules to two Irish teams and a 147 point win over AFL Europe at Reading in England.

Old Geelong captain George Burbury was judged the outstanding player of the series.

Musster was runaway winner in the Division 2  medal count on Tuesday September 12 and judged best afield in the premiership win v West Brunswick.

In an astounding domination Musster polled 33 votes, nine times best field, to win by 16 votes from his nearest rivals Matt Harris (Glen Eira) and James Tran (MHSOB).

Musster's breakaway speed and courage stamp him as the premier on baller in the competition. He is also a popular and respected leader off the field and all at Prahran Assumption salute his achievement.

Musster is now a dual VAFA medallist as he won the 2011 Fullerton Medal in Division 3, the last year the Two Blues were premiers.
